DIY Paper Flowers

Did you know that the "average" couple spends thousands on flowers for their big day? I can imagine spending that much money on flowers that will die just after a few days! We will have some real flowers, but it won't even come close to the "average" wedding cost. But just because we wont be spending a fortune on real flowers doesn't mean we can't have flowers! I'm not a fan of silk flowers, don't get me wrong, I have seen some gorgeous ones that you would never be able to tell were fake, I just feel if we don't want real flowers, we may as well just go all the way. You may have seen my previous post about our paper flower centerpieces, here is a DIY of how we are making them!

What You Need...

paper (book pages, sheet music, card stock, etc.)

candle sticks or thin vases 

flower punch

hot glue

foam balls 

pins

Hot glue the foam balls to the candle sticks or vases.

These pre cut out flowers were on sale for $1.49 each at Michaels! They are perfect for adding color to the arrangements! 

Punch out your flowers, I have only had to use one book so far (purchased at Goodwill for $1.00!)

Begin pinning! Each ball uses about 600 pins, be sure to pin the flowers close together so you wont see the foam ball. I highly recommend using a thimble...your fingers will hurt!

And the final product! Mix and match your papers to create unique and gorgeous flowers!
